Feedback on every lesson, while it is still fresh

An end-of-course survey tells you how the course went. A one-tap question at the end of each lesson tells you which lesson lost people.

The problem

Course feedback usually comes from one survey at the end, answered by the learners who got that far. The ones who got stuck in module two never see it.

Completion figures show where learners stop, not why. A lesson can look fine on a progress chart and still leave learners confused.

How it works with Asklet

  1. 01

Add the snippet to the lesson template

Paste one iframe at the end of your lesson layout. It works where you can edit the lesson page's HTML on your own domain, such as a course built on WordPress or your own site.

  2. 02

Match every lesson with one pattern

A pattern such as /courses/*/lessons/* gives every lesson in every course the same short survey, including lessons you add later.

  3. 03

Ask about the lesson, not the course

Keep it to one or two questions, such as "Was this lesson clear?" and an optional comment. Learners see one question at a time.

  4. 04

Compare modules as well as lessons

Track lessons as pages and give each a theme named after its module. Then compare whole modules as well as single lessons.

Questions to start with

  • Was this lesson clear?
  • Was the pace too slow, about right or too fast?
  • How confident do you feel about this topic now?
  • What should we explain better?

What you get

  • The lessons learners find unclear, spotted while the course is running
  • Comments that name the step or example that lost them
  • Answers from learners who never reach the final survey
  • Anonymous answers with no cookies, so learners can be honest

Common questions

Which course platforms does it work on?

Any course site where you can add a plain iframe to the lesson page on your own domain, such as a course on WordPress or a site you build yourself. Some hosted course platforms limit custom HTML or show embeds inside their own frame. If yours does, the widget cannot run there.

Can I see the feedback for each lesson?

Yes. Every answer is stored with the path of the lesson it was given on, and results are shown per path.

Can I tell which learner gave an answer?

No. Answers are anonymous by design. For one-to-one follow-up, use your course platform or ask learners to get in touch.

Will learners be asked again every time they open a lesson?

Not straight away. After a learner answers, the widget keeps a short note in their browser for three hours, and shows an "already answered" message on that lesson instead of the questions.

Does it work on lessons only paying learners can see?

Yes, if the lesson page shows the iframe to signed-in learners. The widget doesn't know who is signed in to your course, and learners don't sign in to Asklet.
