Terms of Service
Last updated October 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Asklet (the "Service"), operated from Portugal ("Asklet", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a business or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and "you" refers to that organisation.
The Service is intended for business and professional use. By accepting these Terms you confirm that you are using it for purposes related to your trade, business, craft or profession.
1. The Service
Asklet lets you add websites, build short surveys and embed a feedback widget on your pages so that your readers can answer questions about your content. You view the results in your dashboard, per website and per page.
We may improve, change or discontinue features from time to time. If we remove a feature that is material to a paid plan, we will give you reasonable notice.
2. Accounts, organisations and workspaces
- You must be at least 16 years old and give accurate information when you register.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
- Your account belongs to one or more organisations. An organisation holds the subscription and its workspaces, and your content lives in those workspaces.
- Organisation owners and admins control its members, their roles and access to workspaces. The owner also controls the subscription. They are responsible for the people they invite.
- Tell us promptly at the address below if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
3. Your websites and your readers
You may only add websites that you own or are authorised to manage. When you embed the widget, you are the controller of the feedback your readers submit, and you are responsible for:
- having a lawful basis to collect that feedback and informing your readers, for example in your own privacy notice;
- the questions you ask, which must not request sensitive data (such as health, religion or financial details) or information that identifies a person;
- complying with the laws that apply to your website and your audience.
We process reader feedback on your behalf as a processor, as described in our Privacy Policy. The widget is designed to collect anonymous answers, and Asklet removes email addresses and phone numbers from free-text answers before saving them.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service to:
- break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or collect personal data without a lawful basis;
- publish content that is unlawful, deceptive, hateful, harassing or harmful to minors;
- distribute malware, spam, or phishing content;
- probe, overload or disrupt the Service, or bypass its plan limits, security or access controls;
- resell, sublicense or white-label the Service without our written permission;
- scrape the Service or use it to build a competing product.
We may suspend a website, a survey or an account that breaches this section, and where practical we will tell you why first.
5. Abuse of surveys and integrity of responses
In this section, "Responses" means any answers, comments or other data submitted through a widget embedded on your websites. You acknowledge and agree that, once embedded, the widget is publicly accessible to any person or automated agent able to load the pages on which it is displayed, and that Responses are submitted anonymously, without authentication, and cannot be attributed to, or verified against, any identifiable individual.
We have implemented, and may from time to time modify, technical and organisational measures intended to detect, limit and deter automated, fraudulent, duplicate or otherwise abusive Responses. Such measures are provided on a commercially reasonable, best-efforts basis only. You acknowledge that no such measure is or can be infallible, and that they may be circumvented by determined or sophisticated parties. We make no representation, warranty or guarantee, whether express or implied, that Responses are genuine, accurate, complete, representative or free from manipulation, that they were submitted by human readers, or that the Service will detect or prevent any particular instance or form of abuse.
As between you and us, you are solely responsible for:
- assessing whether the measures we provide are adequate for your intended use of the Service;
- implementing and maintaining, at your own cost, such additional measures as you consider appropriate to protect your surveys from abuse, including access controls, bot-management or web application firewall services, rate limiting on your own infrastructure, and restricting the pages on which the widget is displayed;
- monitoring your results for irregular or suspicious activity and, where abuse is suspected, promptly pausing the affected survey, page or website;
- independently verifying Responses before relying on them for any business, editorial, commercial or other decision;
- the content of any Response that you choose to display, publish, export or otherwise use.
Responses are third-party content. We do not review, moderate or endorse Responses and accept no responsibility for their content. We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to throttle, disregard, quarantine or remove Responses, and to restrict or suspend the widget on any website, where we reasonably suspect abuse or where necessary to protect the Service, our infrastructure or other customers.
All Responses, including Responses that are automated, abusive or otherwise not genuine, count towards the limits of your organisation's plan in the same manner as any other Response. We are under no obligation to reset, restore, credit, refund or otherwise compensate you for any plan allowance consumed by such Responses, nor to delete them, although we may elect to do so at our sole discretion and without that creating any obligation to do so in future.
Subject to the section "Limitation of liability", and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any loss, damage, cost or expense of whatever nature arising out of or in connection with Responses submitted by third parties, including Responses that are automated, abusive, fraudulent, offensive or unlawful. Without limitation, this includes any loss arising from: (a) the content of any such Response; (b) any decision taken or not taken in reliance on results affected by such Responses; (c) the consumption of plan limits, including monthly response allowances, by such Responses; and (d) any unavailability of the widget resulting from the application of rate limits, plan limits or other protective measures.
You agree to notify us without undue delay at the address below if you become aware of any abuse of the widget or the Service, and to cooperate reasonably with us in investigating and mitigating it.
6. Plans, billing and cancellation
The Service is offered on a Free plan and on paid plans (currently Starter and Pro), each with the limits shown on our pricing page. We enforce these limits automatically.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders and handles payment, invoicing, sales tax and customer-service enquiries about billing. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms.
- Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are processed by Paddle as set out in our Refund Policy (/refunds/) and applicable consumer law. Unless that policy or the law says otherwise, we do not refund partial periods.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. We will notify organisation owners at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
- If you downgrade, content that exceeds the new plan's limits is kept but may become read-only or paused until you are back within the limits.
7. Your content and our rights
You keep all rights to the content you add to the Service, including your surveys, questions and the feedback you collect. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display that content only as needed to run and support the Service.
The Service itself, including its software, design and the Asklet name, belongs to us and our licensors. The widget shows a "Powered by Asklet" credit on plans that include it; you may not remove or hide it on those plans.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
8. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, such as our hosting provider, our identity provider (including Google if you choose to sign in with it) and Paddle for payments. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for services we do not control.
9. Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the widget will display on every browser or configuration.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability arising out of these Terms in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in that period, or EUR 100 if you are on the Free plan.
Our liability in connection with Responses submitted by third parties is further excluded as set out in the section "Abuse of surveys and integrity of responses".
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, the questions you ask on your websites, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your workspaces at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your account has been inactive on the Free plan for more than 12 months (after notice).
After termination, we delete your workspace data within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer by law. Export anything you need before closing your account.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will notify organisation owners by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Portugal have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws and courts of the country where they live.
