How to add Asklet to Webflow

Drop Asklet into Webflow pages and CMS templates with an Embed element.

Steps

  1. 01

    Copy your snippet

In Asklet, open your website and click Copy website snippet at the top.

  2. 02

    Add an Embed element

In the Designer, drag an Embed (custom code) element onto the page or into your CMS collection template, and paste the snippet.

  3. 03

    Publish

Publish the site to a domain you listed in Asklet. Embeds don't run inside the Designer canvas.

  4. 04

Check it on your live site

Open a published page on a domain you listed in Asklet and answer the survey. To keep your own test answers out of the results, add the page in Asklet first: new pages start in test mode.

Your snippet looks like this
<iframe src="https://asklet.io/embed/s/<your-site>" title="Article feedback" width="100%" height="480" loading="lazy" referrerpolicy="unsafe-url" style="border:0"></iframe>
  • Keep referrerpolicy="unsafe-url" on the iframe - Asklet uses it to know which page the reader is on, so the right survey appears.
  • Custom code embeds may require a paid Webflow site plan.

Every CMS item in one go

Open the collection template page, for example Blog Posts Template, and place the Embed element below the Rich Text element that holds the post body. Every item in the collection then gets the widget, including items you publish later.

Webflow publishes collection items under the collection's slug, such as /blog/my-post, so one page in Asklet with the pattern /blog/* covers them all. Use /blog/** if your items sit deeper.

Sizing the embed

Keep width="100%" on the iframe and let the element around it set the width, such as the same container as your post body. Set the height to fit your survey: one or two questions fit in about 480 pixels.

Testing before you go live

The widget only appears on your website's root domain and the subdomains you list in Asklet. The webflow.io staging address is a different domain, so the survey stays blank there. Publish to your custom domain to check it.

Troubleshooting

The Embed element shows a grey box in the Designer

That is expected: Webflow does not run custom code on the canvas. Publish and open the live page.

The survey is blank on the published site

Check that the address you opened is your root domain or a subdomain listed in Asklet, and that referrerpolicy="unsafe-url" is still on the iframe.

Common questions

Can every blog post in a CMS collection get the survey?

Yes. Put the Embed element in the collection template page and match the paths with a pattern such as /blog/*.

Can different collections ask different questions?

Yes. Add a page in Asklet for each collection's path pattern, such as /blog/* and /guides/*, and give each one its own survey.

Does the widget slow down my Webflow site?

No. The iframe loads lazily, only when a reader scrolls near it, so it doesn't affect how fast the page itself appears.
