How to add Asklet to Framer

Add Asklet to Framer pages and CMS pages with an Embed component.

Steps

  1. 01

    Copy your snippet

In Asklet, open your website and click Copy website snippet at the top.

  2. 02

    Insert an Embed

Add an Embed component, choose the HTML option and paste the snippet. Give it enough height for the survey.

  3. 03

    Publish

Publish to a custom domain you listed in Asklet to see the widget live.

  4. 04

Check it on your live site

Open a published page on a domain you listed in Asklet and answer the survey. To keep your own test answers out of the results, add the page in Asklet first: new pages start in test mode.

Your snippet looks like this
<iframe src="https://asklet.io/embed/s/<your-site>" title="Article feedback" width="100%" height="480" loading="lazy" referrerpolicy="unsafe-url" style="border:0"></iframe>
  • Keep referrerpolicy="unsafe-url" on the iframe - Asklet uses it to know which page the reader is on, so the right survey appears.

Every CMS page in one go

Open the CMS page for your collection, the template every item uses, and place the Embed below the content. Each item gets the widget, including items you add later.

Framer publishes CMS items under the page's path, such as /blog/my-post, so one page in Asklet with the pattern /blog/* covers the whole collection.

Sizing the embed

Set the Embed's width to fill its stack and give it a fixed height that fits your survey: one or two questions fit in about 480 pixels. On mobile breakpoints, check that the stack doesn't squeeze it narrower than the text.

Troubleshooting

The survey is blank in the preview

The widget only appears on the domains you listed in Asklet. The Framer preview and the free Framer subdomain are different domains, so check the published site on your custom domain.

The bottom of the survey is cut off

Make the Embed taller. The iframe keeps the height you give it.

Common questions

Why don't I see the survey in the Framer preview?

The widget only appears on the domains you listed in Asklet, and the Framer preview runs on a different domain. Check it on your published site.

Can every Framer CMS item get the survey?

Yes. Put the Embed on the collection's CMS page and match the items with a pattern such as /blog/* in Asklet.

Does the widget need a cookie banner on Framer?

No. Asklet sets no cookies and stores no identifiers, so it adds nothing to your consent banner.
