Asklet vs building it yourself
A thumbs-up button looks like an afternoon's work. Results, spam, privacy and a dashboard are the rest of the month.
A home-made "Was this helpful?" button is often the first version. It works until someone asks for a second question, a chart, a way for marketing to change the wording, or proof that no personal data is stored.
The button is the small part. Behind it you need somewhere to store answers, protection against bots and repeat submissions, a way to keep personal data out of free-text comments, a report that adds answers up per page, and a way for people who don't code to change the questions. Each of those is its own piece of work, and someone has to keep it running.
Asklet covers those parts. Each widget load gets a single-use token and answers from one network are capped, emails and phone numbers are removed from comments before they are saved, results are shown per website and path, and workspaces have admin and viewer roles. You paste one iframe, and editors change the questions in the dashboard.

Choose building it yourself when…
- Feedback must be joined to your own user records
- You have strict rules against any third-party embeds
- You only ever need one yes/no question and a raw count
Choose Asklet when…
- You would rather ship product than maintain a feedback tool
- Non-developers need to change questions and read results
- You want results per page without building a dashboard
Common questions
How long does setup take?
A few minutes: create a survey, add your website and its domains, and paste the snippet. The Free plan needs no card.
How do I build a "Was this helpful?" button myself?
Add two buttons to your page template, send each click with the page path to an endpoint you host, store it, and build a report that adds the clicks up per page. Then add spam protection, a way to change the question and a privacy review of what you store.
Is it cheaper to build my own feedback widget?
The first version costs little. The cost comes later: new questions, spam, privacy reviews and keeping the report working. Asklet has a Free plan for one website, so you can compare before you build.
Can I join Asklet answers to my own user records?
No. Answers are anonymous by design, so they cannot be tied to a person. If you need feedback linked to user accounts, build it yourself or use an in-app survey tool for identified users.
