How the assessment works

  1. 01

    Answer nine questions

Each one is yes/no or multiple choice, about where your feedback comes from, how much of it you get and who reads it.

  2. 02

    Guess your visibility

On the last question, slide to how much of what your users think you believe you see, from 0% to 100%.

  3. 03

    Compare and fix

Your answers give a score out of 100. You see whether it is above or below your guess, and the three changes that would help most.

What feedback visibility means

Feedback visibility is how much of what your users think actually reaches you. Most teams hear from a small group: people who contact support, answer an email survey or post a review. Everyone else leaves without saying anything.

The score adds up what decides how much you see:

  • Where you ask: on the page itself, or somewhere people have to go
  • How much you hear: the share of users who answer, and whether they can answer without signing in
  • How you read it: per page, quickly, tracked over time and by the people who can act on it

Why teams overestimate it

A busy support inbox feels like a lot of feedback, but it comes from people with a problem big enough to write in. Dashboards show what people did, not what they thought of it.

Comparing your guess with your score shows the size of that blind spot. A large gap usually means you are deciding from the loudest few voices.

Common questions

How is the score calculated?

Each of the nine questions is worth the same, from 0 for no visibility to 1 for full visibility. The total is turned into a score out of 100. Your guess on the last question is not part of the score; it is what the score is compared with.

What counts as above or below expected?

If your score is within 10 points of your guess, your guess was about right. If it is 10 or more points lower, you see less than you think. If it is 10 or more points higher, you see more than you think.

What is a good score?

Under 40 means most of what your users think does not reach you. From 40 to 69 you see part of the picture. 70 and above means most of it reaches you.
